- Investigating Attitudes Towards Household Preparedness Storage in two Norwegian Municipalities
In my thesis I provided an updated review of the last two years of the emergency kit debate, and critisised the lack of a gold standard for household emergency kits, as well as the lack of scientific evidence of their usefulness. Through information gathered through semi-structured interviews I argued that household preparedness must be considered both dynamic and ongoing set of direct and indirect actions. I also commented upon the status of the Norwegian civil preparedness situation, suggesting that most Norwegians have faith in their national authorities’ capability to handle a crisis and that they see little to no reason to prepare themselves or their households. However, the evidence points to vastly unprepared municipality administrations across the country.- Armed Groups and Humanitarian Aid

Dissertation:
- Auditory Bilateral Stimulation Effects on Episodic Memory Retrieval for Fearful Events
Although Eye Movement Desensitising and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is regarded as a first-line treatment for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), the underlying mechanisms are still under investigation. I investigated the ffects of the crucial bilateral stimulation component of EMDR in a non-PTSD sample of mainly undergraduate psychology students
Employing a between subjects design, 48 participants were randomly allocated into two groups, either receiving alternating- or simultaneous auditory stimuli. The remaining 10 participants were assigned to a separate forced simultaneous group as their scores on the PDS reached clinical levels.
Employing the film clip paradigm, positively shown to elicit emotional arousal of fear, I thested participants’ recall of film events by free narrative recall and a cued recognition multiple choice questionnaire. The experimental hypothesis predicted that participants in the active condition, receiving alternating auditory bilateral stimuli would elicit enhanced memory recall for the film events, yet this could not be evidenced.

Dissertation:
- Frillesønn med helgenkongefar – Arven etter Olav den Hellige [The Son of a Leman with a Saint King as Father – The inheritance of Saint Olav]
Investigating the saga literature’s descriptions of differences and similarities between Olav the Holy and Magnus the Good. Touching upon the expectations and demands that followed from being the son of a Saint. Did he follow in his fathers footsteps and did he live up to society’s expectations?
The thesis investigates thoughts and ideas in four sagas (The saga of St. Olav, The saga of Magnus the Good, The saga of Harald Hardrada, and Morkinskinna), conserning itself not whith what may be historically correct, but rather what the situation was portrayed to appear like.
